About Me

Adrian Ducat, an American-Filipino born and raised on a small island in rural Alaska. A percussionist and conductor from Petersburg High School into the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

In high school, the music director recognized the young individual’s skills early on and entrusted him with all things percussion. Newcomers to the percussion section would easily adapt and quickly become successful while allowing the entire band to progress at a faster rate. In the next year, the opportunity was given to him to conduct a piece of his own choosing with the ensemble. The 2023 winter concert was his conducting debut. “Nerve-racking and exhilarating,” as he would describe it, but this was only the beginning. Adrian conducted again at the fall concert of 2024. In the same time frame, he performed in the Region V (Southeast Alaska) Honor Music festival as a percussionist in the band and an accompanist in the choir. His conducting continued with a performance at the 2025 Region V music festival and finally concluded at his last spring concert at Petersburg High School.

In Adrian’s first semester at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the doors were opened to many musical opportunities. The Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra performed “The Ring Without Words,” an arrangement of Richard Wagner’s famous opera by Lorin Maazel. Further through the season, he participated in the orchestra’s performance of “Jurassic Park” Live in Concert. In the university’s percussion ensemble, Adrian had the opportunity to travel to the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (during its 50th anniversary). The UAF percussion ensemble performed John Luther Adams’s “Inuksuit” at the university and at PASIC alongside many other talented percussionists. The semester ended with a performance of Ivan Trevino’s “Gardens.”

To this day, Adrian continues his musical passion at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and is expected to graduate from the Bachelor’s of Music Education program in 2030.
